Tree Equity Alliance Joint Statement Regarding Inflation Reduction Act Awards to Address Tree Equity Nationally

The Tree Equity Alliance, through partners American Forests, GreenLatinos, and Groundwork USA, has secured $85 million from the USDA Forest Service's Inflation Reduction Act funding. This capital will be used to implement community-led planning, tree planting, and maintenance in underserved U.S. neighborhoods to improve health and environmental justice outcomes.

• Three founding partners of the Tree Equity Alliance received a combined $85 million from USDA Forest Service funding: American Forests received $50 million, while GreenLatinos and Groundwork USA each received $10 million.
• The funding will be used to address planning, policy, and financing needs, engage residents in community-led tree-planting and maintenance, and plant tens of thousands of trees in high-need neighborhoods across the U.S.
