Frequently Asked Questions Innovation Challenges — Call for Proposals

This FAQ document provides guidance for the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) Innovation Challenges call for proposals. It details eligibility for non-profit and for-profit organisations, the application process via the Submittable platform, and the funding and support available for winners, including grants up to US$50,000 for implementation in 2027.

• The Innovation Challenge is open to legally registered for-profit and non-profit entities, including NGOs, social enterprises, universities, and multilateral organisations, though individuals and unregistered groups are excluded. Eligibility is based on the project's implementation location in countries eligible for Official Development Assistance (ODA) as defined by the OECD-DAC, regardless of where the organisation is registered.
• Selected winners (approximately 20) will receive grant funding up to US$50,000 for a 12-month implementation period running from January to December 2027. Additionally, winners and finalists (approximately 30–40) receive tailored mentoring, communications, and MEL support, with finalists participating in a virtual Leadership Academy from 6–9 July 2026.
• Proposals are evaluated on a 100-point scale across seven criteria: Innovativeness, Potential for Impact, Equity, Scalability, Profitability and Sustainability, Team Composition (each 0–15), and Risk (0–10). To be eligible, solutions must prioritise the resilience of women and youth, with more than 50% of supported people belonging to these groups.
• Applications must be submitted in English via the Submittable platform by 22 May 2026. While the use of AI tools for structure or clarity is permitted, the GRP will filter out applications that are overly generic or AI-generated during the initial screening process.
