GRP Leadership Transition

The leader of the Global Resilience Partnership (GRP) is stepping down at the end of May 2024 to become CEO of PlanetaryX. The announcement highlights GRP's role in positioning resilience as a core part of climate action through initiatives like the Race to Resilience Campaign and the Resilience Hub at COP, as well as its partnership with the Stockholm Resilience Centre. Immediate priorities before the transition include launching the 2024-2029 Strategy and unveiling a revised Partnership model.

• The GRP leader is leaving the organization at the end of May 2024 to take over as CEO of PlanetaryX, an entity focused on biodiversity conservation via technology and collaborations.
• GRP has contributed to several global resilience and climate initiatives, including the Race to Resilience Campaign, the Resilience Hub at COP, the Marrakesh Partnership for Global Climate Action's climate resilient pathway, the PREPARE Call to Action for the Private Sector, the Resilience Evidence Coalition, and the Locally Led Adaptation Principles.
• The partnership with the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) provided essential scientific strength and is considered fundamental to GRP's past success and future operations.
• Three primary tasks are identified for completion before the leadership transition: the launch of the 2024-2029 Strategy, a virtual Partners meeting, and the introduction of a revised Partnership model.
