活況と不況 2019 世界の石炭火力発電所の計画の追跡

This March 2019 report by Global Energy Monitor, Sierra Club, and Greenpeace tracks global coal-fired power plant plans, noting a three-year decline in most growth indicators as of 2018. While global capacity additions are slowing due to financial and political constraints, China remains a significant exception by resuming previously shelved projects and proposing an increase in its domestic capacity ceiling.

• Most indicators of coal-fired power plant expansion declined for the third consecutive year in 2018. Specifically, construction starts decreased by 39% from 2017 and 84% from 2015, while the capacity of newly operational plants fell by 20% from 2017 and 53% from 2015. Capacity in the construction preparation stage dropped from 1,090 GW in 2015 to 339 GW in 2018.
