GEC Steering Group, Wednesday 14th December 2022– MINUTES

Minutes from the Green Economy Coalition (GEC) Steering Group meeting on December 14, 2022, reviewing the 2022 work plan and establishing priorities for 2023. • While the GEC global hub is funded for the next two years, the lack of secured funding for regional hubs is a significant concern and a top priority for 2023 action.
• The GEC expanded its regional presence in 2022 by establishing a European base and a new East African regional hub involving partners in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania.
• The Steering Group identified a critical need for better structured impact reporting and measurement of systemic change, suggesting the GEC learn from the PAGE results framework.
• For 2023, the GEC aims to focus on key international moments, including COP28 in the UAE and the G20 in India, to address climate deadlock and partner with other entities.
