Friends of the Earth Does Not Support Club4Climate

Friends of the Earth-U.S. clarifies that it has no affiliation with Club4Climate, does not support its activities, and does not permit the use of its logo. The organization specifically rejects Club4Climate's promotion of a trip to a Greek island to "save the world," arguing that aircraft emissions are antithetical to fighting global warming and that the climate crisis requires a phaseout of fossil fuels and a transition to clean energy.

• Friends of the Earth-U.S. denies any affiliation with the U.K.-based firm Club4Climate, stating it does not support the firm, has not authorized the use of its logo, and is not accepting financial contributions from it.
• Friends of the Earth-U.S. argues that Club4Climate's promotion of flying to an island off the Greek coast to "save the world drinking cocktails next to the pool" is misleading and contradicts climate action because aircraft emit significant heat-trapping gases.
• The organization asserts that addressing the climate crisis necessitates a phaseout of fossil fuels through conservation and a transition to clean energy sources, specifically wind and solar power.
