This decline occurred despite a small 1% increase in power demand (31 TWh) and increased net exports to non-EU countries, specifically to the UK (+11 TWh) and Ukraine (+4 TWh).
• Coal power remains highly concentrated in Germany (39%) and Poland (34%), although both countries saw year-on-year generation declines of 17% and 8% respectively. Gas power declines were widespread, affecting 14 of 26 countries, including Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands.
