LANDMARK GLOBAL REPORT

A fact sheet from the Global Climate and Health Alliance introducing a global report on the systemic and multidimensional health impacts of fossil fuel pollution across the human lifespan and the fossil fuel life cycle.

• Fossil fuel-related pollution impacts human health at every stage of life, starting from fetal development through to old age.
• Harm is caused throughout the entire life cycle of fossil fuels, including extraction, refining, transport, combustion, and disposal, with health impacts that are systemic and persistent.
• The health harms associated with fossil fuels are distributed unjustly across nations and communities, exacerbating existing health disparities and wider societal health issues, yet these multidimensional harms have been largely ignored by health and climate policies.
