Sustainable Debt Training Courses

The Climate Bonds Initiative provides capacity building programmes and training courses designed to accelerate the shift of capital toward climate-aligned investment through interactive, practical, and tailored learning.

• Climate Bonds Initiative offers three tiers of training pathways based on the participant's level of expertise: Foundation Courses for those new to sustainable finance or labelled bonds, Deep Dive Courses for participants in more developed markets, and Advanced / Specialist Courses for technical specialists and advanced market actors.
• Courses focusing on Adaptation & Resilience are organized around the Climate Bonds Resilience Taxonomy (CBRT), which encompasses seven specific resilience themes: infrastructure, food systems, cities, social systems, health systems, natural systems, and industry and commerce.
• The organization has implemented various global training initiatives, including methane abatement finance training for over 80 participants across more than 20 countries with FAO and AUDA-NEPAD, and workshops on nature-based solutions and ESG risk management in Kenya, Brazil, Morocco, and Indonesia in collaboration with IUCN and WeESG.
• Specific regional and institutional training examples include a workshop for municipalities in Southeast Asia on mobilising capital for Adaptation & Resilience, transition plan assessment for asset managers in Thailand, and workshops with the IFC and regional stock exchanges in Nigeria and Serbia.
