- The CBRT employs three levels of assessment to determine eligibility: 'no assessment' (automatically eligible adapting measures), 'simplified assessment' (technical specification checks for adapting measures), and 'process-based assessment' (checking steps taken to manage material physical climate risks for all other types).
- Eligible costs vary by investment type: for adapting measures, only the specific intervention cost is eligible; for adapted activities, only the cost of adaptation measures is eligible; for enabling measures, only the measure itself is eligible; and for enabling activities, the entire cost (capital and operating expenditure) is eligible.
- Investments aligned with the CBRT can be certified using the Climate Bonds Standard Resilience Criteria for Use of Proceeds (UoP) and Asset Certification. This includes investments that are not listed verbatim but 'closely match' a listed investment in terms of theme, hazard, type, and output-level contribution.
