ASSURANCE REPORT FOR POST-ISSUANCE CERTIFICATION OF THE GREEN BOND issued by SpareBank 1 Boligkreditt in January 2018

This assurance report, produced by Multiconsult Norge AS on May 25, 2018, verifies that the EUR 1 billion green bond issued by SpareBank 1 Boligkreditt (SpaBol) in January 2018 conforms to the post-issuance requirements of the Climate Bonds Standard Version 2.1. The bond is backed by a pool of Norwegian residential mortgages for energy-efficient buildings.

• Multiconsult concluded that the 2018 Climate Bond issued by SpareBank 1 Boligkreditt is in conformance with the Post-Issuance Requirements of the Climate Bonds Standard Version 2.1, specifically the sector criteria for Low Carbon Buildings (Residential buildings).
• The green bond, totaling EUR 1 billion with a 0.500% coupon and a 7-year term ending in January 2025, was the first of its kind in Norway to be backed by mortgages for energy-efficient buildings.
• Eligible assets for the bond are residential buildings in Norway that comply with specific building codes: TEK07 or later for houses, and TEK10 or later for apartments. These standards are used because they represent less than 15% of the residential building stock and have significantly better energy standards.
• The value of the eligible residential building portfolio within SpaBol's holdings is approximately twice the size of the EUR 1 billion bond issuance.
• SpaBol has established a dedicated Green Bond Committee, comprising management and members of the Board (who also serve as CFOs in SpareBank 1 Alliance member banks), to oversee the Green Bond Framework and its implementation.
• The issuer commits to annual reporting on its website, including an allocation report (covering total proceeds, number of loans, and financing/refinancing percentages) and an impact report (estimating annual energy consumption in kWh/m2 or energy savings in MWh and GHG emissions reduced/avoided in tons of CO2 equivalent).
