The 'China Sustainable Bond Market Report 2022', published by the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) in collaboration with the China Central Depository & Clearing Co., Ltd. (CCDC) and Industrial Securities Research, analyzes the development of China's green, social, sustainability, sustainability-linked (SLB), and transition bond markets (GSS+) through the end of 2022.

• China's transition finance market is in its pilot stage, with a heavy reliance on Sustainability-Linked Bonds (SLBs). By the end of 2022, China had issued 83 SLBs and 16 transition bonds, totaling $19.6 billion (131.9 billion RMB), with SLBs accounting for 92% of this total.
• Rural revitalization bonds have become the primary type of social bond in China outside of pandemic-related debt. By the end of 2022, cumulative issuance for various rural revitalization bonds reached 292.2 billion RMB (43.4 billion USD).
