Green Bond Fact Sheet

This fact sheet details a USD 400 million green bond issued by Consorcio Transmantaro S.A. on April 16, 2019, to finance energy transmission infrastructure in Peru.

• Consorcio Transmantaro S.A. issued a USD 400 million senior unsecured green bond on April 16, 2019, with a maturity date of April 16, 2034, and a tenor of 15 years.
• The bond's proceeds are designated for eligible green projects involving the installation of electricity transmission lines to connect renewable energy sources to the general network, as well as energy efficiency improvements to transmission infrastructure, such as automation systems, smart sensors, and smart grid projects.
• The majority of the proceeds will be used to refinance existing bank debt for operational projects, while the rest will fund two projects currently under construction. However, the issuer confirmed that two operational projects—Subestación Orcotuna and Planice Industriales—are not considered green and are excluded from eligible projects.
• This issuance represents the first non-financial corporate green bond from Peru in 2019 and the first green bond in the country specifically dedicated to financing energy transmission projects.
• Consorcio Transmantaro (CTM) operates a transmission network in Peru consisting of 21 substations and 4,261km of power transmission line circuits with a transformation capacity of 6,993 MVA. The company is expanding this by constructing 841.8km of additional circuits (500 kV and 220 kV), expected to be operational by November 2021.
