Green Bond Fact Sheet

Getlink SE issued a EUR550m senior secured green bond on 03-Oct-2018 to finance the ElecLink electrical interconnector and upgrades to the Eurotunnel Fixed Link. The ElecLink project is expected to increase electricity transmission between France and the UK by 50% and avoid 6.1 million tonnes of CO2, while Fixed Link upgrades target energy savings of at least 33% and significant CO2 reductions through gas replacement.

• Getlink SE issued a senior secured green bond of EUR550m (USD631m) on 03-Oct-2018, with a 5-year tenor maturing on 01-Oct-2023. The bond received a second party opinion from DNV GL but was not certified.
• The proceeds of the bond are designated for three primary purposes: refinancing a bridge loan for the Eurotunnel Fixed Link construction, financing the ElecLink cross border electrical interconnector, and funding Fixed Link upgrade projects focused on clean transport, energy efficiency, and pollution prevention and control.
• The ElecLink project is projected to avoid 6.1 million tonnes of CO2 and increase electricity transmission between the UK and France by 50%.
• Fixed Link upgrade projects include replacing cooling systems to achieve energy savings of at least 33%, reducing cooling system gas by 76%, and replacing Halon gas with Novec gas, which generates 7,000 times less CO2.
• Getlink SE has committed to providing allocation reporting annually, starting within one year of the issuance date, and will provide environmental impact information by category in its CSR Report where possible.
