• The Centre for Environmental Rights (CER), acting on behalf of groundWork (gW), the Vaal Environmental Justice Alliance (VEJA), and Vukani Environmental Movement (VEM), expressed concern regarding the administration and implementation of priority areas declared under section 18 of the National Environmental Management: Air Quality Act 39 of 2004, specifically focusing on the Highveld Priority Area.
• An on-boarding session for "Multi-Stakeholder Reference Group (MSRG) meetings in air quality management," hosted by Tokiso Dispute Settlement (Pty) Ltd, which was scheduled for 6 June 2020, was postponed due to an insufficient number of confirmed stakeholders.
• The CER requested an update on the rescheduling of the on-boarding meeting and sought an explanation regarding support measures for community representatives and affected individuals who lack access to virtual platforms.
