• Eskom is required to submit an Emission Offset Programme to reduce particulate matter (PM) pollution in the ambient or receiving environment by 31 March 2016.
• The licence mandates continuous monitoring and reporting of gaseous emissions, specifically sulphur dioxide (SO2) and nitrogen oxides (NOx), starting from 1 June 2015.
• The municipality denied a request to vary SO2 limits, stating this was a decision made by the National Air Quality Officer during a previous postponement request.
• The facility must maintain an official Air Quality Complaints Register and report the total number of complaints to the licensing authority on a monthly basis.
