• The financial provision for rehabilitation was calculated using the 2005 DMR Guideline Document for the Evaluation of the Quantum of Closure-Related Financial Provisions Provided by a Mine and will be reviewed annually for adequacy and inflation.
• Rehabilitation success is primarily measured by vegetation cover and structure, with a short- to medium-term goal of restoring self-sustaining perennial vegetation to protect soil and facilitate natural recolonisation by fauna and flora.
• MSR and its contractors must provide environmental awareness training to all site employees during construction, operational, and closure phases, covering waste disposal, fauna and avifauna protection, and EMPr measures.
• The EMPr performance assessment, or audit, is required to be conducted every two years by an external auditor, with the resulting report submitted to the DMR.
