Learning organisations - emerging practice from CDKN’s experience

This working paper by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) discusses the application of six models and frameworks to help organisations prioritise learning, specifically within the complex context of integrating climate change into development action.

• Integrating climate change challenges into development action is a complex process characterized by interconnected, cross-sectoral, and multi-stakeholder causes and impacts that are rarely predictable. Because practitioners cannot rely on past experience or best practice for these challenges, the most critical factors for progress are rapid action and the establishment of a culture of learning.
• CDKN operates as a knowledge network that generates and amplifies insights and emerging practices from its work in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. It facilitates learning for others via tailored communications, demand-driven technical assistance, and applied research, while internally becoming more systematic in identifying priority learning questions and mobilising resources to capture insights.
