This report evaluates the results and impacts of two electric mobility programs in Chile, "Mi Taxi Eléctrico" (MTE) and "Más Transporte Eléctrico" (+TE), implemented by the Agencia de Sostenibilidad Energética (AgenciaSE). The programs aimed to modernize minor public transport by replacing combustion vehicles with electric ones, introducing 405 electric vehicles across 10 regions. The study finds that the transition is technically and economically viable for urban taxi drivers, who typically travel under 300 km daily, and that direct exposure to these vehicles improves public perception of electric mobility.

This report analyzes the opportunities and barriers for clean energy, specifically Non-Conventional Renewable Energies (NCRE), in Chile's electricity sector. It examines the current energy matrix, regulatory frameworks, investment trends, and the impact of climate change policies, identifying a transition from a fossil-fuel-dependent system toward a more diversified one supported by legal quotas and financial incentives.

This document consists of observations submitted by the Center for International Environmental Law (CIEL) and a legal team to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) in June 2003. It responds to objections raised by the State of Chile regarding the admissibility of a petition filed by Mapuche-Pehuenche families from the Ralco-Lepoy Indigenous Community. The petition alleges that the construction of the Ralco hydroelectric dam by the company Endesa, authorized by the Chilean state, violates fundamental rights including the right to life, personal integrity, property, and the preservation of indigenous culture and spirituality through the flooding of ancestral lands.
