The Climate Bonds Standard Version 4.1 is a voluntary labelling scheme developed by the Climate Bonds Initiative to certify debt instruments, assets, and non-financial legal entities that align with the Paris Climate Agreement. It provides a science-based framework for certifying Use of Proceeds (UoP) instruments, specific physical assets, non-financial entities, and Sustainability-Linked Debt (SLD), ensuring they meet rigorous climate mitigation and transition criteria.

The Bioenergy Criteria document, published by the Climate Bonds Initiative, establishes a certification scheme for bioenergy-related debt instruments, assets, and entities. It defines eligibility based on three core pillars: greenhouse gas (GHG) mitigation thresholds, sustainable biomass feedstock requirements, and climate adaptation and resilience standards. The criteria aim to align bioenergy investments with the Paris Agreement by implementing a declining trajectory of allowable emissions intensity, targeting 'close to zero' by 2050.
