Handleiding in terme van PAIA en POPIA

This document is a manual produced by WWF South Africa for The WWF Nedbank Green Trust to facilitate requests for access to information and the protection of personal information in accordance with the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

• The WWF Nedbank Green Trust was established in October 1990 as an associate trust of WWF-SA in a mutual benefit partnership with Nedbank. It is primarily funded by Nedbank and its 'Nedbank Green' clients to support conservation projects, specifically focusing on endangered species and community-based conservation.
• The Trust is managed by WWF South Africa (WWF-SA), which holds all relevant records for the Trust. The Trust itself has no employees.
• Financial annual statements are listed as the category of records available from the Trust without the need for a formal request under the Act.
• Records held by WWF-SA on behalf of the Trust include administrative and operational records (such as meeting minutes and correspondence) and other records relating to financial management (budgets, tax returns, and auditor reports), governance (the Trust Deed), and legal compliance (funding agreements and MOUs).
• The Trust processes personal information for directors, trustees, service providers, consultants, contractors, and partners. This data includes full names, ID numbers, contact details, and bank account details.
• Personal information may be transferred to third parties in foreign countries if the recipient is subject to adequate protection laws, the data subject consents, the transfer is necessary for a contract, or it is in the data subject's interest and impractical to obtain consent.
• The prescribed request fee for access to records is R140.00, though this is waived for requesters seeking their own personal information. Additional fees apply for reproduction, such as R2.00 per A4 page for black and white copies and R40.00 to R60.00 for digital copies on CD or flash drives.
