For the love of forests

HP Inc. and WWF have collaborated for over a decade to ensure deforestation-free paper sourcing and protect global forest ecosystems. Key initiatives include restoring Brazil's Atlantic Forest, pursuing FSC certification for state-owned forest farms in China, and piloting a new WWF methodology to counterbalance the forest impact of all paper used in HP printers globally.

• HP Inc. has achieved specific deforestation-free milestones: brand paper has been deforestation-free since 2016, and by 2020, the company reached zero deforestation for 99% of its paper-based product packaging.
• In Brazil's Atlantic Forest, which has lost over 83% of its original area, HP and WWF have engaged more than 50 local institutions and 150 community stakeholders in the Upper Paraná, Mogi Guaçu, and Serra do Mar regions since 2019 to support forest restoration.
• In China, the partnership aims to pursue Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification under the FSC-China national standard across 220,000 acres and provides training and technical support for the management of 462,000 acres of forestland.
• HP is piloting a WWF-developed methodology to estimate the forest impact of non-HP paper used in its printers globally, with the goal of conserving an equivalent number of forest resources to counterbalance this usage.
