WRI PP10 SPECIFIC COMMITMENTS

The World Resources Institute (WRI) committed to enhancing transparency and access to environmental information between 2008 and 2010. Key internal goals included publishing Board governance details, financial reports, and donor lists on its website, as well as translating key materials into Chinese. Externally, WRI pledged to support other Principle 10 partners by developing access rights tools, launching an online network for practitioners, and raising at least $800,000 for civil society organizations. • WRI pledged to support the broader access rights community by 2010 through the development of at least two new tools to evaluate access rights and supporting at least four new civil society coalitions in conducting national TAI assessments.
• WRI committed to providing financial support to civil society organizations, aiming to raise at least $800,000 over two years for activities promoting Principle 10.
• WRI committed to institutional support for the PP10 framework, including serving on the Steering Committee for two years, assisting the new PP10 Secretariat during its first year, and recruiting four new partners, including at least one government, by 2010.
