This fact sheet describes LandMark, an interactive global platform launched in 2015 and redesigned in 2024 to help Indigenous Peoples and local communities map and document their land rights and secure tenure.

• LandMark's 2024 redesign expanded its map coverage to encompass more than 30% of the world's land, moving toward an estimated global total of 50% to 65% held or used by Indigenous Peoples and local communities.
• The platform provides data and analytical tools to support land rights advocacy, including forest greenhouse gas fluxes to identify net carbon sinks and data on intersections between community lands and key biodiversity areas to support reporting for the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KM-GBF).
• LandMark data has been used to support specific legal and policy efforts, such as providing evidence of industrial forest loss for the Saamaka community in Suriname and contributing to a provincial law in Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, that recognized over 178,000 hectares as Indigenous and Community Conserved Areas.
• LandMark is integrated into the High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People’s 30x30 Solutions Toolkit, assisting countries in monitoring and reporting on Target 3, which aims to protect 30% of the world's land, waters, and seas by 2030.
