Corporate GPM Guide 2

The Corporate GPM Guide 2, published by the World Resources Institute, introduces landfill gas-to-energy (LFGTE) as a viable renewable energy source for commercial and industrial enterprises to displace conventional fossil fuels.

• Landfill gas represents a business and environmental opportunity for corporations and power producers to convert a harmful waste by-product into a cost-saving and environmentally beneficial fuel source. Several major companies, including General Motors, Ford Motor Company, BMW, Daimler-Chrysler, Nestle U.S.A., General Electric, and International Paper, have found landfill gas to be a financially attractive alternative to conventional fuels.
• The guide is produced by the Green Power Market Development Group, a partnership between the World Resources Institute and 10 companies. The group's objective is to provide corporate energy managers with information on incorporating green power into energy portfolios, specifically focusing on the environmental, technical, and economic aspects of landfill gas-to-energy (LFGTE) projects based on two years of experience reviewing project viability.
