ACCC: Local Government Renewables Action Tracker: Summary of Methods and Data

The Local Government Renewables Action Tracker is an interactive web tool developed by the American Cities Climate Challenge Renewables Accelerator to compile renewable electricity transactions and advocacy efforts by U.S. local governments.

• The Local Government Renewables Action Tracker (the "Tracker") was developed by the American Cities Climate Challenge Renewables Accelerator, a partnership between the World Resources Institute (WRI) and Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI). It is part of Bloomberg Philanthropies’ American Cities Climate Challenge (ACCC), a two-year program supporting over 100 U.S. local governments in achieving near-term carbon reduction goals.
• The Tracker is an interactive web tool hosted at www.cityrenewables.org that uses publicly available and crowdsourced data to list renewable electricity transactions and advocacy efforts by U.S. cities, counties, municipal utilities, and community choice aggregations. It provides the aggregated total capacity of renewable electricity generation, measured in megawatts, that has been enabled or supported by these local government efforts.
