Energy Efficiency in U.S. Manufacturing

This report by the World Resources Institute examines the role of energy efficiency in the economic and environmental performance of pulp and paper mills in the U.S. Midwest, analyzing facility-level data to identify cost-effective energy and emissions reductions.

• A 2012 Boston Consulting Group survey revealed that 37 percent of manufacturers with sales exceeding $1 billion were either planning or considering moving production from China back to the United States.
