First International GHG Protocol-based Programs Workshop Report

The report outlines the outcomes of a March 2010 workshop convened by the World Resources Institute, where experts from over ten GHG inventory programs discussed the evolution of corporate GHG accounting. • Current trends in business and policy are driving a need for GHG accounting programs to expand in scale and efficiency. • The March 2010 workshop, which included approximately 50 experts from more than ten programs, identified three priority areas for future development: expanding the geography, sector, and scope of corporate GHG accounting; helping entities move from measurement to active GHG management; and increasing coordination between programs as practices become more complex.
