Climate Leadership Now

The We Mean Business coalition argues that corporate climate leadership is essential for long-term business success and global economic resilience. • Corporate climate ambition should consist of a positive vision for a net-zero future, a long-term commitment to reach net-zero by 2050 at the latest, and short-to-mid-term emissions reduction targets aligned with a 1.5°C temperature limit.
• Effective climate action requires a transformation of business models to avoid the growing risks of inaction, involving a review of core strategies, the adoption of an innovation mindset, and collaboration with others to unlock new markets.
• Business advocacy for climate change should be pro-change and consistent across all policy routes, including trade associations, to encourage governments to establish clear rules for a zero-carbon economy.
