Don’t overlook the role of the carbon credits market

• Annual corporate climate finance has seen minimal growth, increasing by only 5 per cent between 2018 and the time of writing, rising from $183bn to $192bn.
• Companies that purchase carbon credits demonstrate higher levels of internal decarbonisation, investing three times more in their own supply chain emissions reductions and being nearly twice as likely to decarbonise year-over-year than non-purchasers.
