Data for the City of Tomorrow: Developing the Capabilities and Capacity to Guide Better Urban Futures

The report provides a guide for city authorities to better aggregate, analyse, and apply data to solve urban governance problems and manage the transitions related to climate and digitalization.

• There is currently a lack of consensus regarding the methods different city types should use to collect and utilize data for strategic and immediate challenges, despite the high, and likely underestimated, potential of data to assist cities in managing digital, climate, and urban transitions.
• The report aims to assist cities by mapping the existing urban data ecosystem and providing guidance on creating data capabilities and policies that are adaptable to various global city contexts.
