Pernyataan Sikap Koalisi Advokasi Kiba

A statement by the Koalisi Advokasi Kiba regarding recurring workplace accidents at PT. Huadi Yatai Industri within the Bantaeng Industrial Area (KIBA), demanding legal investigations and systemic safety reforms.

• A workplace accident occurred at PT. Huadi Yatai Industri involving a 21-year-old worker named Arjun, who lost his left leg while cleaning a machine at a sand filtering pond. He was treated at RSUD Anwar Makkatutu and later referred to RS. Primaya Hospital Makassar.
• According to records from the Balang Institute, there were 12 workplace accidents between 2020 and 2023 at nickel ore refining companies within the Bantaeng Industrial Area (KIBA), four of which resulted in death.
• The Koalisi Advokasi Kiba has issued several demands, including that the Government and POLRI investigate accidents at PT. Huadi Group, the temporary suspension of PT. Huadi Group's production activities, and the ratification of ILO Convention No 155/1981 and ILO Convention No 161/1985 by the Indonesian government. They also urge the DPR RI to revise Law No 1 of 1970 to increase sanctions for companies that violate safety and health regulations.
