WIN Water networking events Delivery report for the sWASH & grow project

This delivery report describes two networking events coordinated by WIN Water as part of the sWASH & grow project between September 2020 and August 2022. The events aimed to connect innovators (sellers) with relief organizations (buyers) to improve the delivery of circular, inclusive, and sustainable off-grid WASH innovations in challenged regions.

• The sWASH & grow project aims to improve conditions for innovators to meet the demands of relief organizations, specifically by developing tools to bring sustainable innovations to those in need. The project involves 28 partners from Sweden, Bolivia, Lebanon, and South Africa across the private, public, academic, and NGO sectors.
• WIN Water conducted two specific networking activities for the project: a workshop on "Digitalization and business in challenged regions" during a "Digital Water" event on November 12, 2020, and a dedicated event titled "Business in challenged regions: Clean water and safe sanitation for all" on February 11, 2021. Together, these activities attracted approximately 90 participants from several countries.
• During the November 2020 workshop, approximately 15 to 20 participants identified several critical needs and opportunities for WASH in challenged regions. Key needs included understanding procurement processes for humanitarian markets, creating a standard data form for universal understanding, and developing technology that connects water safety measurements directly to an analytical platform. Opportunities were identified in finance linked to global agendas such as the Paris Agreement and Agenda 2030.
