Free access to functioning SWAT application of the three river basins

This report describes the release of three baseline SWAT (Soil and Water Assessment Tool) model applications for river basins in Finland, Sweden, and Poland. These models, developed as part of the BONUS RETURN project, are hosted in the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE) open data repository to allow researchers and practitioners to utilize existing parameterizations or develop new scenarios for these specific catchments.

• The BONUS RETURN project has developed three baseline SWAT applications for case study catchments in Finland (Vantaanjoki), Sweden (Fyrisån), and Poland (Slupia). These applications do not include scenarios for mitigation measures or Best Management Practices (BMPs) but provide different parameter combinations that users can use for similar target areas or as a basis for new scenarios.
• The SWAT model applications are provided as compressed zip-files and are hosted in the open data repository of the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). They are accessible to anyone with SWAT knowledge via the SYKE Research Data Service.
