This fact sheet describes a project (October 2016 – January 2018) led by the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) and the Swedish Steel Producers Association (Jernkontoret) to develop a "societal value compass" for the Swedish steel industry. • The development process involves several steps: an initial analysis of SDGs and capital forms using cross-impact balance analysis, workshops with industry actors to scope contributions to societal value, the creation and testing of a prototype compass, and the preparation of case studies to operationalize the tool within the industry.
