Games for Building Climate Resilience in Thailand

The Stockholm Environment Institute presents the 'Kin Dee You Dee' toolkit, a series of three serious games designed to foster transformative learning and resilience among urban low-income communities in Thailand. The toolkit was applied in the Bangkok Metropolitan Region and Udon Thani province to enhance community engagement and disaster risk awareness.

• The 'Kin Dee You Dee' toolkit consists of three stages of serious games: the first creates awareness of resilience concepts, the second involves mapping community assets and identifying associated risks, and the third focuses on reflecting on threats to develop a strategic response plan.
• The toolkit was tested in the Udon Thani province and the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, both of which are identified as areas with high exposure to climate risks, to evaluate its ability to increase disaster risk awareness and meaningful community participation.
• The research concludes that the 'Kin Dee You Dee' toolkit serves as a useful instrument for stakeholders and policymakers in city development to engage with communities and improve their awareness of risks.
