Främjande av biobaserade produkter och energi-smarta transporter: en skogsindustri i världsklass och ökad export

• The development of a future bioeconomy and job creation requires clear, long-term political decisions and new or modified policy instruments that prioritize sustainable economic sectors and resource-efficient production using renewable inputs. • The proposed strategic recommendations and action plans are based on the maintenance of property rights, freedom of enterprise, and the forest policy principle of 'Freedom with Responsibility'. These include a societal contract for the bioeconomy, four proposals to strengthen the forest industry's basic assets for competitiveness, five proposals to enable the transition to a bioeconomy, and one proposal for the realization of the national forest program involving politics, industry, and academia.
• The forest industry is a significant component of the Swedish economy, accounting for 9-12 percent of industrial employment, exports, turnover, and value added. Due to its strong export orientation, predominantly domestic raw materials, and low imports of forest industry products, it contributes significantly to the Swedish trade balance.
