Arctic New Research Agenda

This paper reports on Arctic sustainability research and identifies knowledge gaps to prioritize research for the next decade, drawing on a white paper from the ICARP-III process.

• The Arctic is identified as one of the global regions most impacted by escalating climatic, environmental, socio-economic, and cultural changes.
• Over the past twenty years, a diverse group of actors—including extractive industries, scholars, policymakers, NGOs, and various levels of government—have focused on the Arctic's resources, its people, and the associated challenges and benefits of transformations.
