TED: Technology and Environmental Database

The Technology and Environmental Database (TED) is an open, publicly accessible resource integrated into LEAP that provides quantitative data on approximately one thousand energy technologies. It aggregates information from global and regional institutions to assist analysts, particularly those in developing countries, in calculating environmental loadings for energy scenarios.

• TED provides quantitative data on the technical characteristics, costs, and environmental impacts of approximately one thousand energy technologies, including existing technologies, current best practices, and next generation devices.
• The database aggregates data from numerous sources, including the International Energy Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and regional institutions focusing on technologies in developing countries.
• TED can function as a standalone tool or as part of LEAP to calculate environmental loadings for energy scenarios, and it allows users to edit or supplement its core database of emission factors with their own data.
