TED: Technology and Environmental Database

The Technology and Environmental Database (TED), integrated within LEAP, provides comprehensive quantitative data on the technical characteristics, costs, and environmental impacts of approximately one thousand energy technologies to support analysts, particularly those in developing countries.

• The Technology and Environmental Database (TED) is a component of LEAP designed to provide analysts, especially those in developing countries, with accessible data on the technical characteristics, costs, and environmental impacts of existing, best practice, and next-generation energy technologies.
• TED contains data on roughly one thousand technologies, drawing from sources such as the International Energy Agency, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and various regional institutions focusing on developing countries.
• TED can function as a standalone tool or as part of LEAP to calculate environmental loadings for energy scenarios; its core emission factors database is editable and can be supplemented with user data.
