Data Pages

A guide to the data pages of the Technology Evaluation Database (TED), detailing the interface for entering and managing quantitative technology data, including energy, costs, and environmental impacts.

• The TED data pages interface is organized into resizable panes: a top pane for data viewing and editing, a bottom-left pane for technology-associated notes, and a bottom-right pane for bibliographic references.
• The General tab allows users to define basic technology information, including its development status, lifetime, construction time, and the country or region where it is used. The selections made on this page determine which other data tabs are displayed.
• Specific tabs are available for different data types: Energy Demand (fuels and energy intensity), Energy Conversion (fuels, efficiency, and capacity), Costs (capital, operating, and maintenance), and Environment (environmental loadings such as CO2 emissions).
• The Pollution Control Data tab is reserved for technologies like filters or scrubbers; it tracks fuels consumed by the attached technology, the resulting loss of energy efficiency, and the percentage of uncontrolled emissions eliminated.
