GWP factors default to IPCC 100-year integration values but can be manually edited or switched between sets from the first, second, third, and fourth IPCC assessment reports, with time horizon options of 20, 100, and 500 years.
• Environmental results in LEAP are available in four formats: individual effects in standard physical units; direct GHG emissions at the point of production (including sinks); direct demand plus indirect transformation GHG emissions allocated to demand branches (100-year GWP); and indirect transformation GHG emissions allocated to demand branches (100-year GWP). The latter two formats must be enabled in the 'General: Results to Save Screen'.
• LEAP utilizes a territorial accounting approach for environmental results, consistent with IPCC and UNFCCC National GHG Emissions Inventory Guidelines. This method includes combustion and fugitive emissions occurring within the defined LEAP area boundaries—including those from energy operations for exported final fuels—but excludes emissions from primary fuels exported and consumed elsewhere.
