Girls’ Activism and Leadership for Climate Justice in Asia and the Pacific

This report documents the role of girls and young women in advocating for climate action and justice in Asia and the Pacific, focusing on their vulnerability, the barriers they face, and the tools they use to challenge shrinking civic space.

• Girls and young women are positioned at the center of both climate vulnerability and action; while gender and age influence their vulnerability, they also work to change policies and communities to challenge the circumstances that put them at risk.
• Despite receiving support from allies, girls and young women continue to encounter barriers to having their voices heard and are operating within a "shrinking civic space".
• The report's data is based on a snapshot of perspectives from 30 girls, young women, and key stakeholders across three countries in the region, supplemented by a literature review, an online survey, and a social media listening exercise.
