Time-Series Wizard

The Time-Series Wizard is a LEAP software tool used to create time-series expressions via interpolation, step functions, smooth curves, or projections. It supports data input from manual entry, Excel links, or the LEAP Cloud Database Server (LCDS), which hosts international open-source energy and emissions data.

• The Time-Series Wizard allows users to create various time-series expressions for LEAP's Analysis View, including interpolation, step functions, smooth curves, and linear, exponential, and logistic projections.
• The wizard categorizes functions into two main types: those that calculate values for intervening years based on specified future data points (interpolation, step, and smooth curve), and those that extrapolate future values based on historical data (linear, exponential, or logistic least-squares curve fits).
• Users can source data for these expressions from three different methods: manual keyboard entry, importing or linking to Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, or connecting to the LEAP Cloud Database Server (LCDS).
• The LEAP Cloud Database Server (LCDS) provides access to international open-source national statistics on energy, emissions, and development, including data sets from the World Bank World Development Indicators and UN energy statistics and Population Prospects.
