ARE Photo Contest

The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE) is hosting a photo contest to document the impact of Team Europe's support for decentralised renewable energy (DRE) in Sub-Saharan Africa. ARE members are invited to submit photos by 30 April 2024 across five categories: productive use, women empowerment, powering industries, manufacturing and power components, and green job creation. Winning entries will be promoted via ARE's website and social media, and showcased at the EAIF 2024. Submissions must feature projects partially financed or implemented by European Member State public entities or companies and meet specific technical standards regarding resolution and file format.

• The photo contest seeks to provide evidence of how decentralised renewable energy (DRE) investments supported by Team Europe contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 7, 8, and 12.
• Eligible submissions must be photos taken in Sub-Saharan Africa depicting projects partially financed or implemented by Team Europe players, defined as companies or public entities from European Member States.
• Submissions are divided into five specific categories: productive use for income creation, women empowerment through training and job market inclusion, powering industries, the manufacturing of DRE materials and components, and direct green job creation.
• Winning photos will receive visibility through ARE's website, which averages 13,000 monthly views, and its social media channels with 34,000 followers, as well as promotion during the EAIF 2024.
