REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

This Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks a trainer to develop and implement the 2024 ARE Investment Academies, a capacity-building programme focused on project development and pitch deck writing for early-stage decentralised renewable energy (DRE) companies in Africa.

• The ARE Investment Academies 2024 aim to provide practice-oriented training on "Project Development and Pitch Deck writing" to locally owned or led early-stage MSMEs in Africa's DRE sector to improve their ability to "develop bankable funding proposals" and access finance.
• The programme targets early-stage companies with an annual turnover of less than US$500,000, specifically focusing on women-owned or -led businesses with a target of "50% women participation" and young entrepreneurs under 30.
• The training consists of five modules delivered between 19th March and 23rd May 2024. The first three modules are virtual, while the final two are in-person sessions held during the ARE Energy Access Investment Forum (EAIF) 2024 in Lagos, Nigeria.
• The programme is limited to a maximum of 30 companies, split into two cohorts of 15 companies each for English and French editions.
• Eligible technologies for participating companies include clean cooking, micro-/mini-grids, standalone systems such as solar home systems (SHS) and solar lanterns, and productive use of energy (PUE) equipment and services.
