GadgetroniX – Weni Pemba borehole solarisation project (Tanzania)

The Weni Pemba borehole solarisation project, implemented by GadgetroniX in Tanzania, replaced unstable grid and fuel-powered water pumps with an off-grid solar system to provide the community with a reliable and cost-effective water supply.

• GadgetroniX installed an off-grid solar-powered water pumping system in Weni to resolve water supply disruptions caused by fuel-powered pumps and an unstable electrical grid. The system consists of a 41.4 kWp Solar Array featuring 90 JA Solar MBB Half-cell Monocrystalline PV Modules (460 W each) and a Grundfos RSI 3×380-440 V IP66 30 kW 61A pump controller, which integrated with existing Grundfos pump motor and pump end equipment.
• The solarisation project provides the Weni community with 45,000 litres of water per hour. This transition has eliminated the community's dependence on fuel and the grid, resulting in reduced operational costs and lower carbon emissions while supporting local agriculture, education, and daily life.
