Les Français et les devoirs des entreprises

A June 2025 survey of 1,018 representative French adults shows overwhelming public support for corporate accountability. 86% agree that public authorities should enforce common transparency and prevention rules for companies, 81% believe multinationals should be responsible for the impacts of their subsidiaries and partners, and 90% support mandatory transition plans to limit global warming to 1.5°C.

• A significant majority of the French population (86%) supports the implementation of common rules for companies of the same size to ensure transparency and prevent human, social, and environmental impacts, even if this imposes an additional burden on the companies.
• 81% of respondents agree that multinational corporations should be held accountable for all human, social, and environmental impacts resulting from their own activities as well as those of their subsidiaries, partners, and subcontractors.
• There is very high consensus (90%) that multinationals should be required to implement transition plans to reduce CO2 emissions in line with the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C.
