IDP Roadmap

The IDP Roadmap describes the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) as a five-year municipal planning tool designed to ensure sustainable service delivery, social and economic development, and a safe and healthy environment. The process consists of six phases: Pre-Planning (July–August), Needs Analysis (Sept–Nov), Strategy Development (Dec–Jan), Project Identification & Prioritisation (Feb–Mar), Integration (Mar–Apr), and Approval (Apr–May), followed by an annual review. It requires coordinated participation from municipal officials, council, councillors, communities, the private sector, and provincial and national government.
