Enhanced Policy Scenarios for Major Emitting Countries

The report analyzes GHG emission trajectories for Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and the United States up to 2030. It evaluates the effectiveness of current and planned policies alongside enhanced mitigation actions aligned with national priorities to estimate the potential reduction in the emissions gap relative to a 2°C target for 2025 and 2030.

• The report projects greenhouse gas emissions for seven major emitting countries—Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, and the United States—up to 2030, evaluating the impact of current, planned, and enhanced policies.
• The analysis estimates the extent to which the aggregated reduction from all enhanced policies can narrow the gap between expected emission levels and those consistent with a 2°C climate target for the years 2025 and 2030.
