From 90 pages to 9: Track 0 writes a draft Paris Agreement

The NewClimate Institute describes a proposal by Track 0 to condense the 90-page Geneva Negotiating Text into a more manageable draft Paris Agreement using only textual proposals from Parties.

• Farhana Yamin (Founder and CEO of Track 0) and advisors Erik Haites and Niklas Höhne created a draft Paris Agreement designed to reduce 90 pages of 'unwieldy text' into a comprehensive and ambitious agreement that remains politically balanced.
• The Track 0 proposal is based exclusively on textual proposals from Parties that were included in the Geneva Negotiating Text published in February 2015.
• Following slow progress during June negotiations in Bonn, the French Government scheduled an informal Ministerial Meeting in Paris for July 20 and 21, 2015, to enable Ministers to engage directly with the draft text.
